Lentil patty, the veg burger experiments

A full week, every day trying to get the perfect patty texture.

Crunchy, but not too hard.

Tasty, but not too spicy for kids.

I've got the foundation right.. will post further progress.
Here's the recipe for now:

LENTIL LOVE BURGER (vegan)

Chop or crush 1 or 2 large cloves of garlic into small pieces. Cook 100 g lentils - for usually 20 min, but look on the package to be sure - and start baking 1 finely chopped onion in olive oil in a pot for a few minutes. Cut 110 g of whole wheat bread into small pieces. Add the pieces to the pot and stop the fire. When the lentils are cooked, drain them and add them to the pot as well. Season with 1tsp (teaspoon) cumin (which has 1.4mg of iron!), 1 tsp of chili powder, 1 tsp of your curcuma mix containing black pepper, 2 tsp paprika powder, and finally garlic. Bake the mix further for one minute while stirring to remove excess moisture. Then, use a hand-held blender/mixer to mix it all into a lovely dense paste. Mould the paste into 4 patties, 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick, in the shape of hearts and bless them :-). Apply good pressure to get a nice dough so the patties keep their shape well. Bake the patties for 20 to 30 minutes on an oven rack (not a plate) in a preheated oven at 180 degrees centigrade (356 F). Rub some olive oil thoroughly across the grates to prevent sticking. You can store those patties in the freezer.

The patties go well with some dip, like guacamole.

You could also make little balls instead of patties if you want to serve it as a healthy snack or appetizer.

The patties passed the official QA test
